So Panda Express is not gourmet Chinese food (thus the Express in their name) - however I do like several of their dishes when I want something different and fast (but not in the mood for traditional fast food). I do like their website where you can build your meal - and see the nutritional information as you choose your sides and entrees. (wish everyone did that) If you are calorie conscious - I like choosing the veggies as my side and picking a couple chicken entrees such as String Bean chicken or Chicken and mushrooms. That way you get a meal for less than 600 calories. I do like several of their chicken dishes (as mentioned above) and their shrimp dishes (not always available). Also some of their beef dishes are good too. I tend to stay away from the chicken or steak entrees that are fried an coated in a sweet glaze.

I came here a few days after they opened and they were PACKED! They constantly had fresh food being filled in where/when needed and were clean and friendly. The lines were long but moved quickly. Only gripe was the portions were a lot smaller than at other panda locations. They're new and still have a few bugs to work out but not bad. Please don't come expecting amazing food-it's greasy Americanized Chinese food but tastes pretty darn good when you're in the mood for it!

Food was lukewarm, I waited to get rung up while management were having a conversation three feet away. I asked twice for two medium sodas and was given and charged for two larges. Will not be returning.

Couldn't wait for the store to open and have already been twice. My favorite still is the noodles and orange chicken but each time I visit I try something new. Get it to go even if your eating in, I feel like you get more.

Not impressed at all. There was no form or fashion of the ordering process/line and seemed a bit confusing on where to stand. The orange chicken was rather dry and not enough sauce at all. I also didn't see any place to get condiments, or napkins, accessories to go, etc.

Placed online order at 5pm for 5:15 pickup, finally got food at 5:40, no apology, no offer of compensation. Had to wait 10 minutes for a manager to finally arrive so I could complain. Hopeless service, disorganized, awful. Good is pretty good. Stay away, hopefully we can vote with our feet and this place will be closed soon.

Food is inconsistent and there are always new people at the front. New employees are to be expected, we all are new at one time or another, but they throw them out there to work alone by themselves. Line takes forever to get through- people are mad and always complaining about food being out. Not a pleasant experience!

I love Panda Express! I'm so happy this one opened up close to me because I was having withdrawl. I will gladly drive Rochester Road to get my Panda on! This specific location opened a few months ago, and even though I've been here before, I haven't had a chance to review it. Yes, the food is the same at each Panda, but I love how they have standard dishes and dishes that change from time to time. What I get here depends on what my mood and tastes are, but my "go to" dish is the Orange Chicken with the fried rice. I've had other stuff here in the past, but I won't waste your time listing each one. Even though this place isn't the cheapest in regards to "fast food" type stuff, I still loved dining here. I wish they had crab rangoon instead of the cream cheese rangoon, but it's still good none the less. No soups here either, but they have so many other options to choose from I don't know that I would need it anyways. Egg rolls are pretty good here too. Staff here is decent, parking is okay, and if you've been to one Panda you know what to expect in regards to menu pricing and food. I will gladly return on the future.

If they were not the ONLY Panda Express within 30 minutes I would go to a different location. When you have a gift card, it is really your only option. I have been here twice and both times the line was out the door and they had nothing cooked. The following items had wait times of 8 minutes or more. - Orange Chicken - Chow Mein - Teriyaki Chicken I understand 1 item, but 3? That's pretty bad. They had 2 people working the line, 1 at the register, and 2 cooking. I felt bad and decided someone needed to clean the drinks/utensil/extras area and decided to clean it for them. What a mess. Both times I was here people had to go orders placed but when they walked in for pick up they were not made. Both times the orders consisted of items not available on the line. So they had to wait even longer. Hopefully they get a good rhythm going and hire some people that can work through the rushes they seem to get constantly. Multitasking seems to be important here and it didn't seem any of the employees could handle doing more than one thing at a time.

I love Panda Express in General and have always had great service and food where ever I go. I have been eating at different Panda Express locations in the Southwest for years. I work in California often and have a few locations there that I frequent. I was excited to see one open near my home in Rochester. I have been disappointed with this location. There is always a long line but I think that is mostly due to management problems and that it takes so long to get your food. Because I keep hoping the supply/demand and organizational management problems were just because it's a new restaurant, I have keep going back thinking they will work it out. Its not always slow but for me its more often than not and I'm not asking for anything special. They just keep a very small supply of each dish ready to go so if the guy ahead of you orders what you wanted there's a good chance you will have to wait an extra 10 min while they cook more. Add that to 10 min. In line and it's not really Panda "Express". They have everything that a great franchise needs: great product, great reputation, great location and great customers. Most Panda Express locations I've been to are very organized and I feel confident that they will work out their logistical management problems and be a great place soon and I'm looking forward to it.

It had been quite awhile since I had been here, things do change. I arrived at 12:30pm during a weekday expecting to wait in line as when I was here in the past. However there was no real line to speak of. I noticed that the orange chicken was basically empty, 4-5 piece in the bottom of the warming pan, not enough for a meal. I asked Amanda if it would be a long wait, she said just a couple minutes. I told her my selections and she wrote it on the takeout container and placed it next to others. She then went back and finished cooking the Orange chicken. There were at least 4-5 other visible employees, one was making their own lunch, another was actually cooking a different dish, and the others were just talking. The thing that concerned me most is that when the Orange chicken was done getting tossed with the sauce Amanda came and retrieved the warming pan, with the 4-5 pieces of chicken and took it back to the wok where she dumped the fresh chicken on top of the old chicken. Now my serving was taken from the top, after all the others containers that were filled as others were waiting while seated, so I felt safe, but I would not feel safe eating the remainder of any of the entrees there if this is now a common practice. In the past I have always seen them bring fresh entrees in a new warming dish where they place the older items on top of the new items to make sure it is consumed in a timely manner. In this case the old was left on the bottom as well as the new entree was put in an old pan. Not real sanitary or safe. My meal was just bland, the food use to taste much better here. What was once a nice new place to eat has gone down hill pretty fast. Very disappointing.

Hey I know this is a "fast food" type of chain, but needed to say, I appreciated these guys. I had never been to a Panda Express before, so when I walked in I was kind of lost. The woman at the counter was so patient and kind to guide me through how to order and take care of getting what I wanted. I appreciated that so much I am putting up this review. Downside? I shouldn't have to ask for forks, soy sauce, or anything. Have the bags prepared to send us out the door with our fast food chinese. Otherwise, the help I got to order my food begged me to say the servers here were extraordinarily nice and deserved to be noticed. Thanks!

I wanna rate this place higher I really do, but the poor operation choices hurts this location to much. First food was good. But during the hight of service they decided to clean there fryer which slowed their service almost to a hult. The employees almost in a panic to serve customers with no food but the promise that its coming. I know places get behind but just talking to other customers this happens very often almost every night. Worst part to me was the maneger was cooking all the food. which tells me she is allowing for them to clean the fryers during a rush which no sense.

Ive been here 3 times in the past month, each time they have run out of orange chicken, in the first two time was told it would be about a 5 min wait but ended up being closer to 15. But last night I walked in, they were not very crowded but they no orange chicken and only 2-3 other meats available. Now granted it was 815-830, but what I saw was two employees working about 6-8 other standing around and it looked like they had already started closing down. Not impressed with this location so far.

Gave it another chance because it was new the first time. You could literally order carry out from your local chinese spot and get food faster. Youd end up with more food of higher quality for the same price. This place has express in their name but no express in their game and that Is literally the only advantage theyre supposed to have. Both times I was there they ran out of fried rice and orange chicken. Its like mcDs running out of fries and burger patties. Poor management is reflected in the speed, efficiency and quality of employees. Very dissapointed and not accepting their apology for the wait this time.

I really like this Panda Express. Whenever I am at the mall I always stop by Panda Express. I went to this new location on a Saturday at lunch time and it was very busy. I got the fried rice and chow mean with double orange chicken. It was delicious! :) I really love the Orange chicken and the rice and chow mean wee really good. The location looked really clean and everyone was really nice. Definitely stop by if you're craving orange chicken!

Exceptionally bad on every level! First off food was cold, not a single clean table in restaurant. Staff appear to be sleep walking through the day while trash cans were left over flowing. Only positive was Orange chicken, though it was barely room temperature it was tastey. I'm guessing it's loaded with sugar lol! Will never return we walked in happy pandas and left very sad pandas

The food was gross like it had been sitting there all day and wasn't fresh. The person behind the counter was rude and only cared about her little friends that were in there.

We tried on first Saturday it was open. In our opinion Pei Wei is way better even though it is a bit more expensive. Our kids did like it so we may try again if we are in a pinch.

This just was not very good. Over sweet/sauced, cold chunks of bacon in Orange chicken, and awful egg rolls. There is certain mall Chinese I would much rather have.

The fried rice has no flavor at all, the orange chicken taste little bit like seafood? Well, it's express food, what I expect.

It's very hit and miss here. I've had fairly good food, flavorful and not too oily. The very next evening the food was inedible. Too oily, and rancid tasting. The lines don't bother me nor does the wait but this evening one worker told the others to stop taking orders until they got caught up. She said this in front of customers waiting already for quite awhile! Several of us stood and waited until someone deemed it time to start the line again, that took around ten minutes. I placed my order but then the cash register wasn't working and I had to wait another 15 minutes for them to fix it. It was unplugged. They just don't seem to prepare enough food especially the very popular dishes. If most people want orange chicken then why not make more orange chicken? I'm not sure the food is worth all the kinks in the service.

Not great for the price compared to your typical Chinese spot. Cheng's gives you more food, tastes better, and is lower priced.

If you want Asian food, this is NOT the place. If you want Asian inspired American food, then this is the spot. I can't go higher than a 3 because most of the stuff just isn't that good. The only reason its a 3 and not a 2 is because everything is already ready and you don't really have to wait. If you had to wait, this would be a 2 at best.

Super disappointed. I went this afternoon about 2pm and the place was pretty empty. That is saying something since most Panda Expresses are packed no matter what time of day it is. There were two people in line ahead of me and for me to get take out it took me 15 minutes. Even I couldn't believe ow long it took. Granted on customer was wasting a lot of time asking about every individual rich behind the counter but it never alerted the workers as I stood there to help the next people in line. Quite a few were just..standing around. Finally a manager asked to take my order pay I told the cashier about it being empty and the wait being long. She blankly looked at me and said "hummhp". I laughed because I was being ridiculous to even give the feedback. I left and opened my bowl of lo mien and honey walnut shrimp as i drove home and it was all COLD! Weird thing is I JUST watched the cook put a fresh bowl of lo mien but instead of mixing the cold lo mien with the new hot lo mien the employee obviously just scooped from the top and it was indeed ice cold. The noodles were also hard? Ive been to PE from here to California and this was the worst overall...food and service. I just got home and tossed it. The calories are not worth it today.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
